In the vast wilderness of Alaska, there are still unexplored territories where new species are discovered even to this day. In the video posted on the YouTube channel Smokey Sasquatch Stories & Survival, a former search and rescue helicopter pilot named Jared shares his encounter with a mysterious species in 1987.
Jared and his co-pilot, Jack, were searching for a couple of missing hikers in a remote area of Alaska. They had been missing for three days, and the chances of finding them alive were slim. As they scanned the area, they noticed a group of trees swaying, even though the air was completely still. At first, they thought it was the missing hikers, but as they approached, they saw three distinct human figures in the trees, much taller and larger than any human they had ever seen.
Jared looked through his binoculars and saw a hairy, grotesque ape-like creature staring back at him. Its eyes were fixed directly on him, and it didn't move as it sat completely still in the tree. It had long white hair and a beard, and its neck and upper body were massive. The fully grown tree bent every time it moved.
As they flew closer, the creature began to wave a large log around like a baseball bat, displaying no fear. Suddenly, they were hit by projectiles, possibly rocks, and they realized that these were not hikers, but something else entirely. They quickly flew away, narrowly escaping with their lives.
Jared believes that they encountered a territorial group of Sasquatch, and he is convinced that there are many more groups, the farther you go away from civilization. He also mentions the North Sentinel Island tribe, a hunter-gatherer tribe on the island off the coast of India, which still exists today and remains uncontacted by the outside world.
This encounter is a reminder that there are still many mysteries in the world, and that new species are discovered even in our own backyard. It also highlights the importance of respecting indigenous cultures and their territories, whether it's the Sentinelese tribe or the Sasquatch.
As Jared said, "I believe that there are many more groups the farther you go away from civilization. Everyone has their own theories, but that is what I stand by. They're out there, and I'm sure that there are more tribes and undiscovered species altogether that science has not yet recognized."

In addition to this encounter, it's worth noting that the North Sentinel Island tribe is not the only uncontacted tribe in the world. There are estimated to be over 100 uncontacted tribes worldwide, mostly in the Amazon rainforest. These tribes have chosen to remain isolated from the outside world, and contact with them can have devastating consequences. It's important to respect their wishes and allow them to live in peace, just as we should respect the wishes of the Sasquatch and other mysterious creatures that may still be out there.
