In a chilling account of a possible Bigfoot encounter, Linda Eastburn of the Hudson Valley Bigfoot YouTube channel shares her story of a terrifying experience she had as a teenager while camping on the mountain behind her family's home in Dutchess County, New York.
Linda recounts hearing a loud owl call, followed by an ear-piercing scream that shook her to the core. She describes the scream as "god-awful" and "ear piercing," and says it made her blood run cold. She quickly packed up her tent and ran back to the safety of her home.
It wasn't until many years later, in 2011, that Linda made the connection between the scream she heard that night and the scream of a Bigfoot. She was watching the television show "Finding Bigfoot" when she heard the same scream that had haunted her for decades. She immediately went to her computer and searched for Bigfoot sightings in Dutchess County, and the first result that popped up was a daytime road crossing on Lake Road in Pine Plains, the town where she grew up.
This discovery sparked Linda's interest in Bigfoot, and she began researching and investigating on her own. She started by talking to friends and acquaintances in the area, and soon discovered that many people had their own stories of Bigfoot encounters.
One friend, a farmer, told Linda of an experience his niece had while visiting from the city. The niece saw a "big black head and shoulders" looking at her through a window one night. The farmer also shared that his workers had found numerous large, human-like tracks with toes around a pond on his property.
Linda also spoke with a man who had a backhoe on his property and one night heard a loud noise outside. When he went to investigate, he saw a "tall bipedal creature" standing next to the backhoe. The next day, the workers found a multitude of huge tracks around the pond.
Linda's investigation led her to believe that there is a whole clan of Bigfoots living in the area. She has seen blonde and reddish-colored young ones, as well as dark black and brown ones. She has also found hair on barbed wire fences, tracks, and even a cow carcass that she believes was killed by a Bigfoot.
In addition to her Bigfoot research, Linda also discovered that there are mountain lions and bears living on the mountain where she had her initial encounter. She had a close encounter with a mountain lion while deer hunting with her brother several years ago.
Linda's story is a fascinating and chilling account of a possible Bigfoot encounter. It serves as a reminder that the world is full of mysteries and unknown creatures that are waiting to be discovered.
But did you know that Bigfoot is not the only mysterious creature that has been reported in Dutchess County, New York? The area is also home to reports of black dogs, or "hellhounds," that are said to roam the countryside. These dogs are described as being larger than a normal dog, with shaggy black fur and glowing red eyes. Some people believe that these dogs are actually supernatural beings, while others think they may be a rare breed of dog. Whatever the case may be, the legend of the black dogs of Dutchess County adds another layer of mystery to an already fascinating area.
