Bigfoot sightings have been a topic of fascination for many, and the YouTube channel Top5s has compiled a list of 10 shocking encounters that might make you think twice about venturing into the woods alone. From eerie howls in the night to mysterious footprints and photographs, these true stories will leave you believing in the existence of the elusive Bigfoot.
One of the videos featured in the video is from Hickory, North Carolina, where resident and Bigfoot hunter Doug Teague filmed what he claims to be one of the clearest videos of a North Carolina Bigfoot ever seen. Doug was walking his dog, Crazy Daisy, through the woods just outside of the city when he heard a loud knocking sound in the distance. As he got closer, he spotted an unrecognizable creature on top of a ridge and started to record it. Doug then followed the huge creature's footprints and took casts of them.
Another sighting took place in San Gabriel, California, where a hiker in the San Gabriel Wilderness pulled out his camera to record the stunning landscape. However, as he panned around, he spotted something in the trees below and zoomed in. The large creature appeared to be about 10 to 15 feet tall, although strangely, it didn't appear to move. The area is not usually known for Bigfoot sightings, but in 2018, a woman walking in the San Bernardino Mountains, located around 70 miles east of San Gabriel, claimed she also spotted a Sasquatch up in a tree.
In 2015, a mushroom hunter in Northern Illinois got more than he bargained for while foraging in a mushroom forest. He uploaded footage to his YouTube Channel, Tomorrow's Garden, that appeared to show a Bigfoot-like creature in the background. The video was featured on the History Channel, and viewers were left to make their own conclusions about what was captured on film.
Bigfoot sightings are not limited to rural, mountainous areas in America. In 2021, Bigfoot enthusiast Lee Brickley claimed he found tracks and claw marks that prove an ape-like beast is living in the forests of Britain. He found the prints in Cannock Chase, Staffordshire, a 26 square mile forest that has been plagued with paranormal activity and supernatural phenomena for centuries.
In addition to these sightings, the video also features a print found in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, in 1980. Locals discovered a massive print in the mud that appeared to belong to somebody or something's right foot. It had six toes and must have had a giant stride as the second imprint of the left foot was found eight feet away from the right. The print was found close to someone's home and was said to measure over 17 inches. Reports of a repugnant odor in the area and bizarre noises like nothing they had heard before were also reported.
It's worth noting that Bigfoot or Sasquatch is not considered an animal or beast by many. They are often referred to as a legendary creature or a missing link in human evolution. While some believe these sightings are hoaxes or misidentifications of other animals, others are convinced that there is something unknown roaming in the forests.

Now, let's talk about something unrelated to Bigfoot that was mentioned in the video. Did you know that the San Gabriel Wilderness, where one of the sightings took place, is home to over 300 species of birds? The forest is a popular destination for birdwatchers, who come to see species such as the California spotted owl, the mountain quail, and the acorn woodpecker. So, even if you don't encounter Bigfoot on your hike, you might still see some fascinating wildlife!
