In a chilling episode of the Cryptid Creatures Podcast, hosts Brian and Todd welcome Robin, a guest from Washington's northwest, who shares her lifelong encounters with Sasquatch. Robin's experiences began in her childhood, growing up in Eastern Washington, Spokane. Her father, a hunter, would tell stories of strange creatures in the woods, making noises and leaving behind foul smells.
One particular hunting trip, Robin's father discovered that his tent had been tipped over, and the two bales of hay he used for insulation had vanished. A foul smell lingered in the camp, which Robin now suspects was the work of a Sasquatch.
During a family picnic in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Robin recalls a gypsy circus sideshow with an exhibit labeled "hairy man Harry something" and a mummy inside. As a child, she was intrigued by the strange creature, which had human-like fingers and toes and a flat face. Her father, equally puzzled, remarked, "I don't know what that was. Ain't no monkey."
Robin's fascination with Sasquatch continued during a huckleberry picking trip on Mount Spokane with her family and relatives from California. Suddenly, her father yelled for everyone to get to the car. He grabbed her younger brother and sped away, leaving the relatives behind in search of their lost dog. Later, they found the dog two miles away, unharmed but smelling as if it needed a bath.
Robin now considers Sasquatch a friendly forest creature and an older brother figure. She shares her 1974 experience camping in Yosemite, where she and her friend Colleen heard a bear rummaging through a cooler. The group of campers, startled by the noise, shone their flashlights on the creature, only to discover it had a man-like appearance.
Robin's captivating stories offer a unique perspective on Sasquatch, painting them as intelligent and gentle beings. To fully appreciate her experiences, be sure to watch the Cryptid Creatures Podcast episode featuring Robin.
