Bigfoot Encounter in Indiana's Monroe County: A Credible Witness's Story

In a video posted on the Wood Brothers Paranormal Almanac YouTube channel, a witness shares their encounter with a possible Bigfoot or Sasquatch in Monroe County, Indiana. The witness, who was caving in a local pit off of Popcorn Road, saw a silhouette moving south just within the tree line. Believing it to be the landowner, the witness got out of their Jeep and approached the tree line. However, as they got closer, they realized that the silhouette was not a human. The witness described the creature as standing at six to seven feet tall, covered in long dark brown fur, and walking upright on two legs with a bit of a bend forward. Despite being only 50 to 60 feet away, the witness was unable to make out more details due to the overcast day and shadows. The witness and the creature made eye contact for 10 seconds before it turned and walked back into the trees. The witness did not feel threatened and did not get the sense that the creature was too concerned about them. The location of the sighting was near Clear Creek and only about five miles from Lake Monroe, an artificial reservoir and the largest lake in Indiana. The area is known for its hilly farmland and is home to Indiana's only federally protected U.S Wilderness Area, the Charles C Dean Wilderness Area. The witness was interviewed by BFRO investigator Caroline Curtis and was found to be credible. The witness initially thought they were seeing the property owner or a person, but upon closer inspection, they realized it was not a human. This is not the only sighting in the area. Another witness reported seeing a possible Bigfoot or Sasquatch in 1982 while fishing along the White River. The witness and their friends noticed a faint smell of something dead and felt as if they were being watched. They saw a figure on a tall bridge behind them and watched each other for 45 minutes before the witness and their friends decided to leave. The location of this sighting was also near Lake Monroe, in a hilly and wooded area with no houses along the river. The witness has returned to the area many times since the sighting and has not noticed anything unusual. A third sighting was reported in 1988 in the Morgan-Monroe State Forest. The witness saw a dark brown figure with long arms and hands swinging at its knees, completely ignoring the witness. The witness described the figure as a Bigfoot, but their brain was trying to dispute this. The location of this sighting was on the main Forest Road about 101.5 miles east of the forest entrance. The witness saw the figure after sunset but before it was dark, and the temperature was in the mid-30s with patches of snow on the ground. These sightings in Monroe County, Indiana, add to the growing body of evidence suggesting the existence of Bigfoot or Sasquatch.
