A fellow truck driver and I had a thrilling experience back in 2015 while hunting southwest of Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada. We were out scouting a local clear-cut area when we encountered a moose on the edge of the tree line. After taking down the moose, we heard two big thumps in the distance, resembling trees hitting one another. The sound was within a kilometer distance, and I could hear it clearly while my friend was on the four-wheeler.
The thumping noises were much larger than the usual sounds of small trees knocking together. I couldn't help but think about the internet videos I had been watching, where sometimes they communicate through knocking on trees. Although my friend didn't hear it, I was certain that something unusual was happening. We quickly finished our work and left the area, but the experience left me wondering if we had come close to a Bigfoot.
Fast forward to January of the same year, I was driving south of Valley View, Alberta, towards the Seminet Road, which leads to the backcountry foothills. As I was passing kilometer 10, I encountered another driver who looked shaken up. He told me that he had seen something big and dark walking on the tree line going down a hill, approximately four to five feet tall, in about five feet of snow. I couldn't see anything at that moment, but I made a mental note to check it out when I passed by that area again.
When I got to the spot, I could see where the figure had come out of the bush line, walked down the hill, and then went back into the bush. Although I didn't see it myself, I could tell that something significant had happened there.
Two weeks before this sighting, I was driving on Sierra Road, north of Fort Nelson, BC, when I overheard a conversation on the CB radio between a grader operator and a water hauler. They were discussing tracks they had seen on the gravel that came out from the Marshall area, crossed over, and went back into the marsh area. The grader operator didn't see the tracks, but the water hauler mentioned that the stride from heel to toe was three and a half feet in length. Although I couldn't find the tracks when I got there, the conversation was eye-opening.
A couple of weeks later, I was driving on the same road when I saw a Bigfoot come out from the tree line. It was huge and moved smoothly, unlike a bear. I only saw it for three to five seconds before it turned its back and walked into the tree line. I knew right away that it wasn't a bear or any other animal.
These experiences have left me wondering about the existence of Bigfoot, and I encourage everyone to keep an open mind and share their stories. Who knows, maybe you'll have your own encounter one day.
