Have you ever heard of cryptids with "man" in their names? There are quite a few out there, and they are described as humanoid creatures with features of various animals. But what are these things, and where are they coming from?
One of the most well-known humanoid cryptids is Bigfoot, also known as the American ape man. Unlike other man cryptids, Bigfoot isn't too different from animals we're familiar with. There are upright walking primates, and Bigfoot seems to be one of them. However, other man cryptids like Dogman, Goatman, and Dearman are crossbreeds of known mammals and human beings.
Dogman, in particular, is a creature that can't fit into our understanding of the animal kingdom. There are no known canines that move bipedally in the same way Dogman does. They're also known to have hands, which is not a characteristic of any known canines.
Other man cryptids include the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp and the Mantis Man of New Jersey, which are seemingly hybrid human reptiles and human slash insects, respectively. The Mothman, which called West Virginia home from 1966 to 1967, is unique even for these cryptids in that it was able to fly despite having limbs like a human's.
So, what are all these man cryptids, and where did they come from? There are a few theories out there, such as aliens, lab experiments gone wrong, demonic entities, or even some type of interdimensional travelers. However, none of these theories seem to have more evidence in their favor compared to the others.
People are definitely seeing something, and maybe we're better off not knowing what these things are or where they come from. But what do you think these humanoid horrors really are? Let us know in the comments section below.
