A few years ago, I stumbled upon a video from the YouTube channel Linda Eastburn that I just had to share with my fellow Bigfoot enthusiasts. In the video, Linda recounts her first Bigfoot encounter, which took place during a camping trip in the Okefenokee Swamp back in the mid-90s. As Linda and her friend paddled their boat down a tributary, they noticed some commotion in the water on the right-hand side of the boat. At first, they thought it might be an alligator or a bear, but as they got closer, they saw a figure standing up from a crouching position under the growth. The figure quickly turned away from them and moved back into the forest. Linda describes it as having shoulders and moving in a fluid, gliding motion, almost as if it was floating. She estimates that the creature was about six feet tall, and she didn't see much of its neck or lower body. Linda and her friend didn't mention the encounter to the rest of their camping group, as they didn't want to be the laughing stock of the trip. But years later, Linda's interest in Bigfoot was rekindled when her twin brother called her up and told her that a Bigfoot had been caught in Georgia. This led Linda to start doing some research online, reading up on the big players in the Bigfoot world and trying to find lesser-known personalities with their own stories to tell. She eventually planned a trip to the Georgia Mountains with her wife and some friends, where she found a footprint and a hair sample, further fueling her interest in the elusive creature. Linda's story is a great reminder that Bigfoot sightings can happen anywhere, even in places that might not seem like obvious habitats for the creature. It's also a testament to the power of memory and how our brains can sometimes play tricks on us. But whether or not Linda's encounter was a true Bigfoot sighting, it's clear that her interest in the creature is genuine and contagious. And who knows – maybe her story will inspire you to get out there and start looking for Bigfoot in your own neck of the woods!
