Bigfoot Encounter in 1977: Gerald's Chilling Story from Brown County, Indiana

Sasquatch enthusiasts, have you ever experienced something so strange and surreal that you question whether it really happened? That's exactly what happened to Gerald, a hiker from Brown County State Park in Indiana. In his email to the YouTube channel Sasquatch Theory, Gerald shares his encounter with what he believes to be a Sasquatch. It was a beautiful morning in late March or early April of 1977 when Gerald decided to go for a hike at Str-a-hL Lake in Brown County State Park. He liked to get there early before any other hikers showed up, so he could fully experience the "majesty and all of nature." On this particular morning, Gerald was alone. As he was walking across the dam, he heard a roar that he estimates was between 100 and 200 yards away. It was a cross between a growl and a human-like scream, and it was incredibly loud. Gerald had never heard anything like it before and it stopped him in his tracks. He turned to try and see what it was, but didn't see anything. He stood there for a few minutes, questioning whether he had really heard what he thought he did. But then, it happened again. This time, Gerald was sure that whatever had made the sound had done so in response to his movement. He stood there, unmoving, for 10 minutes. He considered going back to his vehicle, but realized that the sound had come from a spot closer to the vehicle than he was. So, he continued on his hike. As he walked, Gerald noticed that there was utter silence in the woods that day. No birds, no squirrel sounds, no deer - just eerie dead silence. When he got to the other side of the lake, he looked around for tracks but didn't find anything. It wasn't until years later that Gerald began to wonder if that might have been a Sasquatch. The Sasquatch Theory YouTube channel also shared another email from someone who had a Sasquatch encounter in Missouri. In October 2018, they were on their way to a VA clinic when they saw a "huge animal" on its hands and knees, eating something in the median ditch about 100 yards away. They think it might have been a deer, but all that was left when they came back through was bloody, soaked grass and drag marks across the road.
