As a video curator for Squatchable, I recently came across a fascinating video from the YouTube channel Deborah Hatswell #BBR. The video, titled "The Ward Stone Werewolf 2014 & Young Girl Runs from a Werewolf," shares reports of strange creatures seen in the Forest of Bowland and Cumbria areas in the UK.
The video begins with Deborah discussing her love for camping in the Forest of Bowland, despite the numerous reports of a strange figure seen running from the woods. One of her listeners, Len Penting, recommended the Dunston Bridge Trumpet Trail, which Deborah discovered has its own strange tale to tell.
A woman who was using the trail saw a "tall hairy man" run into the woods, describing it as half-man, half-ape with huge shoulders and legs covered in thick hair. Deborah notes that the description reminded her of the creatures she saw in 1982, which were thickly muscled and covered in hair.
The video then features an interview with a witness named Becca, who saw a similar creature when she was a child on holiday with her father in the Trough of Bowland. Becca described the creature as having pointy ears like a dog, a brown and black face, and arms with massive fur. She immediately thought of a werewolf and ran towards the light for safety.
Becca later drew a picture of the creature she saw, which was then shown to another witness who was wild camping in the forest. The witness confirmed that the picture represented what he saw one night while watching the sky near the Wood Stones.
The video also features an encounter from a witness who saw a creature near the Crags in the Forest of Bowland in September 2014. The witness described the creature as lurking around the area where they were camping, moving every few moments to a different spot to watch them.
As a curator for Squatchable, I found this video to be a fascinating compilation of strange creature sightings in the UK. If you're interested in learning more, I encourage you to watch the video and draw your own conclusions.
