In a recent video from the Sasquatch Odyssey Podcast, host Mark DeWalt interviews a guest about their experiences and fascination with Bigfoot. The guest, who remains unnamed, shares how their interest in Sasquatch was sparked by an episode of In Search Of hosted by Leonard Nimoy. They were watching the episode with their grandfather, who revealed that he had seen newspaper clippings about Bigfoot sightings in Ohio.
The guest was so intrigued that they went to their school library and found the book "Sasquatch: Apes Among Us" by John Green. The book detailed 17-18 sightings in Ohio, and the guest was hooked from that day on. They continued to read about Bigfoot and watch any related programs they could find.
The guest's Bigfoot meter was turned back on during a trip to Tippecanoe, Ohio in 1988. They were introduced to their girlfriend's uncle, Bob, who had a farm in the area. The guest asked Bob if he had ever heard of any strange animal reports in the area. Bob mentioned that a neighbor had seen a bear cross the road and step over the guardrail. The guest didn't press the issue, but the next day, they met the neighbor and heard his story firsthand.
The neighbor worked at a brick plant and was coming home from a late shift when he saw something standing on the side of the road. He hit his bright lights and saw a large black bear. The bear walked across the road in three steps and stepped over the guardrail into a creek. The neighbor had never seen a bear do that before and was amazed. The guest didn't mention Bigfoot to the neighbor, but they were convinced that was what he had seen.
The guest also learned about Don Keating, who holds meetings in Newcomerstown, Ohio about Bigfoot sightings. The video is a fascinating account of one person's journey into the world of Bigfoot and the experiences that have shaped their beliefs.
