The 2023 Meddling Falls Bigfoot Festival has come to a close, and from the looks of it, it was a huge success! The festival, which took place in North Ponderay County, attracted thousands of people who came together to celebrate their shared interest in Bigfoot.
As I watched videos from the festival, I was struck by the sense of community and excitement that permeated the event. Vendors, speakers, and attendees alike all seemed to be having a great time, and there was a palpable energy in the air.
One vendor I came across was Tom C, who operates the Sasquatch Island Facebook group, YouTube channel, and website. Tom has been attending the Meddling Falls Bigfoot Festival for three years in a row and was even invited to recommend some of the speakers for this year's lineup. He gave a presentation on the First Nations mask of Junoja or Sasquatch from the Quak hockey walk tribe, which was a big hit with the crowd.
Another vendor I encountered was Rosie, co-owner of GNR Goodies. This was the third year that GNR Goodies has been a part of the festival, and Rosie said that it was probably the best year yet. She and her team were hard at work serving up delicious treats to the hungry festival-goers.
I also had the pleasure of meeting Aviana Carlson, the local face painter for the event. Aviana has been a part of the Bigfoot Festival for three years and said that it is one of her most successful events. She was kept busy painting the faces of excited children and adults alike.
In addition to the vendors, there were also a number of speakers and presenters at the festival. One such presenter was Derek, the number one grade A original Rib King gourmet soul. Derek and his team served up mouth-watering ribs, chicken, brisket, and pulled pork to the hungry crowds.
As I watched videos from the festival, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and community. It's clear that the Meddling Falls Bigfoot Festival is a beloved event that brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate their shared interest in Bigfoot. I can't wait to see what next year's festival has in store!
If you weren't able to make it to the festival this year, I highly recommend checking out the Selkirk Range Sasquatch YouTube channel. They have a number of videos from the event that will give you a taste of what you missed. And who knows, maybe next year you'll be able to join in on the fun in person!
