Have you heard the legend of the mysterious "Orange Eyes" creature lurking around Ohio? If not, let's dive into this urban legend that has been making rounds in Mansfield, Ohio.
The YouTube channel, Ohio Urban Legends, Ghosts & Cemetery Stories!, featured a video about the Orange Eyes monster. According to the video, Orange Eyes could be a Bigfoot-type creature, an alien, or even a large ape. However, the most common description is that it has creepy orange glowing eyes.
The origin of this urban legend is a bit mixed. Some say that Orange Eyes originally lived in Riverside Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio, and was forced to move to Mansfield after some construction destroyed its home in the late 1940s. Others claim that Orange Eyes was first spotted in the early 1960s by teenagers on Ruggles Road. But, regardless of its origin, the legend has been associated with Mansfield, Ohio.
People who have claimed to have seen Orange Eyes described it as a large hairy monster that was 10 to 11 feet tall and possibly weighed over a thousand pounds. The descriptions were similar to that of a large Sasquatch but with glowing orange eyes. Orange Eyes reportedly made its new home around Charles Mill Lake and the surrounding areas.
Sightings of Orange Eyes were so frequent that a group of residents even got together to hunt down and kill the creature. However, the last sighting of Orange Eyes was in 1991 around the Willis Creek area. Some people have reported that it might just be a man scaring people with bike reflectors over his eyes.
While the existence of Orange Eyes remains a mystery, the legend has certainly captured the imagination of many.
