Recently, I came across a fascinating video from the YouTube channel Deborah Hatswell #BBR that I think will intrigue fellow Squatchable readers. The video, titled "The Welsh Werewolf Tracked To A Scene of Utter Devastation," shares accounts of possible werewolf sightings and encounters in Wales.
The first account comes from Grassford, a small village on the outskirts of Wrexham. A witness reported finding large, dog-like footprints in the snow, significantly larger than those of a wolf. Unfortunately, the witness and I lost contact before I could see the images of the prints.
The second report is historical, dating back to 1790. A stagecoach traveling between Denby and Wrexham was attacked and overturned by a massive black beast, described as being almost as long as the Colts horses. This animal tore into one of the horses and killed it, causing the other horse to break free and run off into the night. The attack took place just after dusk when the moon was blood-red due to dust from a recent fire in the Hatchmere area. The moon that month was called "The Deadly Wolf Moon."
In the winter of 1791, a farmer in a snow-covered field seven miles east of Grassford saw enormous tracks resembling those of an overgrown wolf. He followed the tracks with the blacksmith for two miles, leading to a scene of absolute mutilation. Every single animal had either been torn to shreds or mortally wounded. The farmer was found locked inside his house, mentally terrified after witnessing an enormous black animal, similar to a wolf, ripping out the throat of the sheepdog.
Church sell Patrols searched for the suspected werewolf, and bands of villagers braved the freezing blizzards with lanterns, muskets, and pitchforks. However, only the beast's tracks were ever seen. Seven years later, two men walking across the Bickerton Hills in Cheshire saw a massive unidentified animal and heard a blood-curdling howl. The following day, their mutilated bodies were found in the wood, five miles from the Inn.
These stories, while unrelated to Bigfoot or Sasquatch, still pique the interest of those who enjoy unexplained phenomena and cryptozoology. I encourage you to watch the video and share your thoughts with the Squatchable community.
