New Mexico Campers' Encounter: Was it Bigfoot?

A couple from Texas had a harrowing experience while camping in a remote location in New Mexico. The couple, who were not identified, were woken up in the middle of the night by heavy footsteps outside their tent. At first, they thought it might be a person playing a prank on them, but as the footsteps got closer, they realized that it was something much larger and more terrifying. The couple could hear the footsteps getting louder and louder as whatever it was approached their tent. They could see a large silhouette outside their tent, and as it got closer, they could make out the shape of a massive figure. The figure began to run towards their tent, and just before it reached them, it leaped over the tent and landed on the other side. The woman was terrified and could hear her heart pounding in her chest. Her boyfriend was barely awake and tried to reassure her that it was probably just a raccoon or some other small animal. But the woman knew that it was something much bigger and more dangerous. Suddenly, they could hear the footsteps again, and this time, they could see a large hand pressing down on the tent, as if to tease them. The woman could see the long fingers of the hand, and she knew that whatever it was, it was not human. The couple sat in their tent, too scared to move, as they listened to the footsteps getting closer and closer. They didn't know what to do, but they knew that they couldn't stay in the tent. Finally, they gathered their courage and made a run for their van, leaving their tent behind. The woman was still shaking as they drove away from the campsite. She couldn't believe what had just happened, and she knew that she would never forget that feeling of terror that she had experienced in that moment. The couple later learned that there were many stories of Bigfoot or Sasquatch existing in New Mexico, and they couldn't help but wonder if that's what they had encountered that night.
