In a recent video from the YouTube channel Small Town Monsters, the topic of Bigfoot sightings in Southern California is explored, specifically in San Diego and Imperial counties along the U.S.-Mexico border. The area is known for its arid climate and lack of dense forests, making it an unlikely location for Sasquatch activity. However, there have been reports of Bigfoot sightings in these counties, leading some to believe that the creatures may be pushed towards civilization due to urbanization.
The video's host, Eli Watson, explains that Southern California, particularly San Diego and Imperial counties, are not typically associated with Sasquatch sightings due to the lack of dense forests and the dry, hot climate. He notes that the only advantage Bigfoots might have in this region is the mild winters in the mountains, where they can escape the snow and find food. However, the area is generally not hospitable to large mammals due to the lack of reliable water sources and vegetation.
Despite these challenges, there have been reports of Bigfoot sightings in both San Diego and Imperial counties. In San Diego County, there are over 70 miles of coastline and a population of over 3.3 million people. The area also has mountains that receive snow, such as Palomar Mountain, as well as military installations, the Laguna Mountains, the Chaparral Countryside Cleveland National Forest, and the borrego's Desert State Park. The OT Mountain Wilderness, which sits on the border between the U.S. and Mexico, is also part of San Diego County and is heavily used by illegal immigrants trying to enter the United States.
The video features an interview with a truck driver who saw a Sasquatch-like creature while driving outside of Blythe, California, in Imperial County. The driver described the creature as being about seven or eight feet tall, grayish-brown, and making a grunting sound as it crossed the highway. He was so frightened by the encounter that he has never driven that highway at night again.
While the video presents some compelling evidence for Bigfoot sightings in Southern California, it's important to note that the area is not typically associated with Sasquatch activity. The lack of dense forests and reliable water sources makes it an unlikely location for these creatures to thrive. However, the video serves as a reminder that Bigfoot sightings can occur in unexpected places, and it's always exciting to explore the possibility of their existence.
