Appalachian Trail: A Cryptid Hotspot? If you're a fan of the great outdoors and all things cryptid, then you'll want to pay attention to this report. The Appalachian Trail, a 2,190-mile long path that stretches from Georgia to Maine, is a popular destination for hikers and campers. But according to some, it's also a hotspot for strange and terrifying encounters with unseen creatures. The YouTube channel Phantoms & Monsters Radio recently shared a personal account of such an encounter on their channel. The witness, who is an experienced hiker, recounts a hike with two of his friends near the Appalachian Trail in Duncannon, Pennsylvania. The three friends decided to go on a night hike and set up camp near a creek that flows into the Susquehanna River. As they sat around the fire, they began discussing Sasquatch and other cryptids. Both of the witness's friends had previously had encounters with unseen creatures. Suddenly, they heard a huge rock splash into the creek nearby. The witness describes the sound as a "whoop" as the rock broke the water. Immediately, they felt a sense of dread and danger. Then, it happened again. And again. And again. Large rocks were being thrown into the creek, getting closer and closer to their campsite. The witness and his friends quickly packed up their belongings and began to walk out of the woods. As they did, they heard even more splashes in the creek, as if something was mirroring their movements. They couldn't see anything, but they could feel a presence. The witness admits that he is now afraid to go hiking again, especially in that section of the Appalachian Trail. He mentions that there was a murder in that area back in 1990 and that the area is known for bigfoot activity. This is just one of many accounts of strange occurrences on the Appalachian Trail. Some believe that the trail's remote and rugged terrain makes it the perfect habitat for cryptids. Others think that the trail's popularity and high traffic may actually be driving these creatures away. Whatever the case may be, the Appalachian Trail is certainly a fascinating place for those interested in the unknown. So, if you're planning a hike, be sure to keep your eyes and ears open. You never know what you might encounter. You can watch the full video on Phantoms & Monsters Radio's YouTube channel and decide for yourself if the Appalachian Trail is a hotspot for cryptid activity. And, as always, we encourage our readers to share their own experiences and thoughts on the matter.
