In the summer of 2023, a thrilling road trip took place, spanning from the east coast of the United States to Alaska, and covering the entirety of the famed Alaska Highway. The journey was filled with stories of Bigfoot sightings and encounters, as shared by locals along the way.
The Alaska Highway, also known as the Alaska Canada Highway or Alcan, runs through Northern British Columbia, the Yukon Territory, and finally into Alaska. Constructed during World War II, it remains an engineering marvel and serves as the primary land route from the lower 48 U.S states to Alaska.
One particularly memorable stretch of the highway is the first five hours north of Dawson Creek, British Columbia, where a history of Sasquatch sightings has been reported. A map compiled by Canadian researcher Carrie kilmuri shows several sightings along this section of the highway, including a 1965 report of a classic road crossing sighting around mile 101 and a 1999 sighting of a 15-foot tall Sasquatch near Red Fern Lake.
As the journey continued, the traveler encountered a breathtaking canyon off the side of the highway. Although no sightings or reports were found from this specific location, the sense of isolation and the presence of moose scat suggested that anything could be hiding in this wild habitat.
Further north, the Leard River serves as the official Northern Terminus of the Rocky Mountains. Here, the traveler stopped at the famous Leard Hot Springs, where a fascinating report from 1944 described the discovery of 16.5-inch footprints. The lack of additional details and the early date of the finding make this report particularly intriguing.
As the journey progressed, the traveler continued to encounter wildlife and stunning landscapes, making for an unforgettable cross-continent voyage. To fully experience this adventure, be sure to watch the video and immerse yourself in the world of the Alaska Bigfoot Highway.
