Texas Boy's Chilling Bigfoot Encounter Revisited After Vocalizations in Colorado Forest

A chilling encounter with the unknown was recently brought to my attention by a viewer named Dave. Dave grew up in East Texas and had a terrifying experience when he was just 11 years old. It was the fall of 1971, and Dave's father decided to take him deer hunting. They went west of Groveton, near Westville, and were just outside of the Davy Crockett National Forest. Dave's father planned to flush some deer in his direction, hoping he would get a shot. Dave was sitting in a tree stand with a 410 shotgun across his lap when he heard loud footsteps approaching him. The footfalls were heavy and sounded like they were coming from something large. Suddenly, a six-foot-tall, hairy, muscular form appeared just 15 feet behind him. Dave couldn't see the face, but he could tell it was upright and standing on two feet. Overwhelmed with fear, Dave sat motionless, trying to go undetected. He could hear the creature breathing and trying to catch his scent. After a few minutes, it let out a snort and walked away. Dave felt relief but still had a numbing sensation pervading his body. After the encounter, Dave never hunted again. He tried to revisit the spot years later, but it was posted no hunting, no trespassing. The experience haunted him for years, and he couldn't shake the feeling of terror. In 2000, Dave went on a long-distance run to raise money for Native American causes. While in Southern Colorado, he heard vocalizations in the forest that triggered his memory of the encounter. He contacted the BFRO, but never heard back.
