London Fishermen's Encounter: Bigfoot-like Creature in Wanstead Park

In a recent video posted on the YouTube channel Deborah Hatswell #BBR, a chilling encounter with a mysterious creature is recounted. The witness, Ian James, describes a terrifying experience that occurred in 1989 while he and his friends were night fishing in Wanstead Park, London. Ian and his friends were playing squash earlier in the evening and decided to go night fishing at one of the ornamental lakes in the park. As they were walking along a gravel path, Ian's torch illuminated a pair of large eyes, unlike those of a fox or a cat. The eyes were about three and a half to four feet off the ground and belonged to a creature that Ian describes as a primate of some kind. As Ian and his friends got closer, they saw that the creature had dark fur around its eyes and a red tinge in the torchlight, similar to an orangutan. Its arms and torso appeared to be longer than its legs, and it let out a throaty growl and hiss as Ian's friends ran towards it. The creature chased the group as they ran back up the path, staying within the bushes and shaking trees and bushes as a territorial display of strength. Ian and his friends were so scared that they lay on the ground for an hour, listening to the creature moving around in the underbrush. Ian's encounter is just one of many mysterious creature sightings reported in the Wanstead Park area.
