Have you heard about the Batsquatch sightings that have been reported over the years? As a video curator for Squatchable, I recently came across some fascinating footage and information on this lesser-known cryptid. Back in April 1994, Brian Canfield was driving in Washington's Pierce County when he claimed that a large creature landed in front of his truck. According to Canfield, the human-like creature stood at nine feet tall, had bat-like wings, and was covered in blue fur. Although skeptics have dismissed this sighting as a hoax, another possible encounter was reported in 2009 near Shasta, California. Several hikers witnessed a massive creature with leathery wings fly out of a crevice in the mountain. At first, the eyewitness described the creature as having a pterodactyl-like head, but upon further consideration, they changed their description to being more similar to a flying fox bat. The most recent sighting occurred on April 14, 2014, at Archbishop Colvin High School in Akron, Ohio. During a second-period Spanish class, students spotted a giant black mass zip by the window of their classroom at incredible speed. The class described the creature as being about nine feet tall with a 20 to 30 foot wingspan. These sightings have left many wondering if the Batsquatch is a real creature or just a myth. While we may never know for sure, it's always exciting to hear about new and intriguing cryptid sightings.
