Bigfoot sightings and encounters are not exclusive to the Pacific Northwest – they can happen anywhere, even in the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. Thomas Markham, a well-known and respected researcher, has been pondering the question of whether Bigfoot buries its own dead in Southeastern Kentucky. He stumbled upon two large mounds of dirt and rock deep in the woods of Belle and Harlan counties, an area where several hikers, campers, and researchers have had Bigfoot encounters and found many large and unusual footprints. Markham, the founder of the Crypto Crew at Crypto Zoology and Paranormal Research Group based in Kentucky and author of "Understanding Bigfoot," admits that the mounds may be nothing more than natural formations or something earlier settlers did a very long time ago. However, he has been researching Bigfoot for over 20 years and has seen the creature on more than one occasion. He has talked to dozens of people who have also claimed to see the creature in the state. Recently, the television show "Expedition Bigfoot" spent time filming in the same area, and Markham said it came as no surprise that some Bigfoot creatures have chosen the Bluegrass State to call home. Kentucky lies in the Goldilocks zone of the United States, not too hot and no extreme cold temperatures, and the state's game and wildlife provide an abundance of food sources for the massive bipedal. There are also plenty of natural caves and old coal mines for shelter. Markham is not alone in his belief that Bigfoot roams the woods of Kentucky. Mike Lucci, a researcher and host of the YouTube channel CARC Universal, has also received numerous reports of Bigfoot sightings and encounters in the state. In a recent episode of "This Week in Bigfoot," Lucci shared a video of an alleged Bigfoot encounter that was reportedly caught on film in Central Oregon. The video, posted on the Squatch Mafia YouTube channel, shows a group of people reacting to a large, dark figure moving in the woods. The figure appears to be on two legs and is not afraid of the people or the flashlights shining on it. The original footage comes from a channel called Colin Haggerty and was published on July 28, 2018. Haggerty alleges that they have encountered this creature multiple times and that this video was filmed by his friend's cousin. While some believe the video is genuine, others are skeptical. The figure's arm length is too short for comfort, and it spends a lot of time out in the open, completely exposed, with multiple people screaming and shining flashlights on it. It's also got the classic blurriness, shakiness, and the subject going in and out of frame, all the fundamentals for a classic Bigfoot video. Regardless of whether the video is real or not, it's always exciting to see new evidence of Bigfoot's existence. If you live in Kentucky or have had a sighting or encounter, we encourage you to share your story with us. And, as always, we encourage our readers to watch the video and decide for themselves whether they believe it's real or not.
