Tonight's Squatchable Halloween Countdown: Git out of here! Git! Git! - Chased out of the forest Netflix Movie: The Ritual – It’s a supernatural horror film about a group of men being lost in the woods with a creature from Norse mythology and its worshippers hunting them. Way too scary for the kids! The title of our theme harkens back to a famous news report where a man told them that he rough talked and scared a Bigfoot off his property. For many of us, we probably giggle a bit about him being able to rough talk a Bigfoot but it’s no laughing matter when something in the forest wants us to get out. Sometimes the pressure from the creature is gentle yet effective, they just watch us from a distance and maybe make a little noise. You also may notice that there is no noise at all which tells you that even the other small animals in the forest are concerned. Check out this video of a man who camped out in the forest and decided to leave because he felt like he was being stalked. You don’t see anything but you can hear him just talking trying to alleviate his fear. At 8:00 you can hear the forest is absolutely silent:
Other times the pressure is more intense and maybe there may be many of them, coordinating their movements to get you out of their territory. Listen to this true story about a hunter that came across what they believe was a group of Bigfoots and they stalked him from both sides of a dried creek bed:
And sometimes it becomes a flat-out attack to scare you out, like what happened to Derek Randles:
And just a few days ago, the Sasquatch Chronicles posted a podcast where they interviewed a man named Ryan. Ryan thought Bigfoot was going to kill him during an encounter, he believes it was angry because they scared the deer out of their hunting area:
Hopefully after hearing these stories you’ll listen a little closer to what the woods are trying to tell you. I’ve only mentioned Bigfoot stories here but there are plenty of creatures, both known and unknown, human and inhuman, that call the forest their home and want you to “Get away from here! Get! Get!" Bonus: Here is the source of our theme title, the Tim Peeler news story:
