It seems that Sasquatch is making a comeback in popular culture, and it's not just in the Pacific Northwest anymore. The YouTube channel "Intro to Anthro with 2 Humans" recently discussed this very topic in their episode titled "You Sasquatch My Back, I’ll Sasquatch Yours" or "Big Feet Make Big Footnotes." John McRae, one of the hosts, has been noticing an increase in Sasquatch-themed bumper stickers and merchandise during his commute to work. From Dr. Squatch men's hand soap to Ford Bronco emblems, it seems that Bigfoot is everywhere. But what does this mean for anthropology? Sasquatch, if it exists, could be a missing link in physical anthropology. Additionally, the belief systems and legends surrounding Sasquatch fit into cultural anthropology. As humans, we don't like the idea of being alone in the world, and the idea of Sasquatch provides a sense of connection to something bigger. Despite the increase in Sasquatch sightings and merchandise, there is still no concrete physical evidence of its existence. No bones, skull, or scat have been found, making it difficult for scientists to classify Sasquatch as a species. Regardless, the fascination with Sasquatch continues to grow. From television shows like "Finding Bigfoot" and "Expedition Bigfoot" to local bars and restaurants, it seems that Sasquatch is more popular than ever. Who knows, maybe one day we'll have definitive proof of its existence. Until then, the mystery and allure of Sasquatch will continue to captivate us.
