Have you ever heard of Burnt-Rossman Hills State Forest in the Catskill Mountains of New York? If not, you're missing out on a place that's full of natural beauty and, according to some, a few mysterious inhabitants. I recently came across a video from the YouTube channel Odd & Untold, where the hosts shared their experiences camping in this very location. While they didn't have any direct encounters with Bigfoot, they did mention hearing some unusual sounds and having a general feeling of unease, which they attributed to the remote and desolate nature of the area. The Catskill Mountains have a rich history of Bigfoot sightings, with many people reporting encounters over the years. In fact, the hosts of the Odd & Untold video shared some stories from Gail Beattie, a researcher from the Hudson Valley who has had her own experiences with the elusive creature. Intrigued by the stories from the video, I did some research of my own and found a few reported Bigfoot sightings in the Catskills. One such sighting occurred in 1997, when a hunter heard odd clicking noises while scouting in the town of Deposit. The sounds were described as sounding like rocks smashing together, and the hunter couldn't pinpoint their location at first. After some time, he was able to determine that the sounds were coming from the ridge to the northwest of his location. Another sighting occurred in 2002, when a couple was camping in the town of Hancock. They reported seeing a large, hairy creature walking on two legs near their campsite. The creature was said to be over seven feet tall, with broad shoulders and long arms. While these sightings are intriguing, it's important to remember that Bigfoot is still a largely mysterious and elusive creature. Many people are skeptical of its existence, while others are firm believers. Regardless of where you stand on the issue, there's no denying that the Catskill Mountains are a fascinating place with a rich history and plenty of stories to tell. If you're interested in learning more about Bigfoot sightings in the Catskills, I encourage you to check out the video from Odd & Untold and do some research of your own. Who knows, you might just uncover a story or two that will leave you scratching your head and wondering what really lurks in the woods.
