This canine creature, standing upright, was spotted by the daughter of a family in their barn and even managed to jump a high wall. Missy Shaw, the witness, described the creature as taller than an Irish wolfhound but bulky like an Elsa. Missy contacted Deborah Hatswell and shared her story via email. She and her stepfather saw the beast drinking water from their pond one night. When the flood light came on, they saw the creature clearly - huge, black, and muscular, with a face like a dog but much fiercer than any domestic dog. The creature had thick black hair all over, and when it noticed the light, it stood up on its back legs like a human and leapt over the tall garden hedge. This wasn't Missy's only encounter with the creature. Another time, she and a friend were walking past an old barn when they noticed an animal looking out at them from a broken hole in the side of the barn. They both recognized the way it moved and knew they had seen it before. When they tried to approach it, the creature moved further back into the barn, hiding from view. Missy's story isn't an isolated incident. Around the same time, another young lady reported seeing a creature she couldn't identify near the fields of Barleylands Farm. The encounter, known as the Dogman Beast of Basildon, has never left her or her friends. These stories serve as a reminder that the countryside can be just as frightening as any urban area, and perhaps even more so.
