Veteran Air Force Officer's Shocking Bigfoot Encounter during Training Exercise

Dan, a veteran of the Air Force and a military police officer, recounts his only Bigfoot encounter during his time in the military. While undergoing Air Base ground Defense level one training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, Dan and his unit were tasked with defending a mock Air Base in the Pine Barrens. As an M60 Gunner, Dan was stationed in a bunker with a Starlight scope, which allowed him to see in the dark. One night, while observing a patrol moving through their area, Dan noticed something large and unusual moving behind the patrol. He counted nine figures, one more than the patrol reported. When he alerted the patrol to the extra person, they formed a security possession and began shooting flares into the air. The sudden burst of light from the flares caused Dan's Starlight scope to malfunction, but he was able to see a large figure sprinting away into the woods. The instructors were confused and alarmed by the incident, and Dan was ordered to return to command and not speak of the encounter. The incident left a lasting impression on Dan, and he remains convinced that he saw a Bigfoot that night.
