Iowan Man's Encounter with a Hair-Covered, Earless Creature in 1984

In the summer of 1984, Dave and his friend Rob went catfishing near the Raccoon River in Minburn. Around 10 PM, they heard something stomping through the woods and falling into the river. Soon after, they heard heavy breathing and splashing as the creature swam towards them. Curious and concerned, they shone their flashlight into the river and saw a hair-covered head with no ears or antlers and eyes that did not reflect the light. The creature submerged as soon as the flashlight hit it. Dave and Rob decided to leave, fearing they might get caught up in the creature's path. Dave had never shared this encounter with anyone but his family until this interview.
