In the world of Bigfoot enthusiasts, witnesses, and researchers, stories of strange and unexplainable sightings of the elusive creature are not uncommon. The latest report comes from Hickory, North Carolina, where a man claims to have seen Bigfoot in 1975. Johnny Tomlin, the pastor at Pilgrim Baptist Church, shared his testimony of the encounter in a recent YouTube video.
Tomlin describes the incident as taking place in 1975, soon after his marriage. He was out with his wife and her uncle, who had a new truck, and they were driving along Blue Creek in Lenoir. As they rounded a curve, Tomlin's wife suddenly screamed. That's when they saw it - a creature standing in front of them, looking down through the windshield. Tomlin called it "Yeta Sasquatch Bigfoot," and described it as being as tall as a four-wheel drive truck.
The creature didn't seem to be aggressive, but it was enough to scare everyone in the vehicle. Tomlin's wife's uncle, who always carried guns, didn't have them with him that day. They didn't know what to do until he suggested they blow the horn. Tomlin obliged, and the creature turned to face them. It stood there with its arms raised, as if surrendering. Tomlin called its arms "hands," because it was standing on two feet.
When they blew the horn again, the creature turned and leaped in one swift motion to the other side of the road. It landed on its two feet, facing the truck. It stood there, its arms still raised, as they backed up. The backup lights were on, so they could see the creature in the distance.
Tomlin described the creature's walk as a "big lonesome leap," with its arms flailing about. It disappeared into the field, and they made their way back to the house. Tomlin's wife's uncle didn't want to talk about what they had seen, as he didn't want to scare the children. Tomlin, however, didn't want to keep quiet about what he had seen. He said that some people call him crazy for preaching about Jesus, but now they'll call him crazy for believing in Bigfoot too.
Tomlin's encounter is just one of many in the world of Bigfoot sightings. His sighting is very convincing.
