Bigfoot Investigator Visits Site of Terrifying 2003 Encounter

So I just stumbled across this video from the Rocky Mountain Sasquatch channel, and honestly, it's one of those reports that really sticks with you. Kelly Shaw takes viewers out to the Utah-Idaho border, west of Bear Lake, to investigate a sighting that happened back in June of 2003. The area is loaded with history when it comes to encounters, sitting at around 6,000 feet elevation with a creek, fresh water springs, and plenty of wildlife like moose, elk, and deer. Basically, prime habitat for a large, reclusive creature. The original report comes from a camper who was playing with his three dogs about 200 feet from his campfire right before sunset. He started hearing strange vocalizations coming from up the mountain. At first, he thought he was imagining it, but after hearing it a few more times, he realized something was definitely out there. He described the sound as very loud and sharp, similar to a primate call but deeper and not as high-pitched. Think chimpanzee sounds from nature shows, but with more bass to it. Here's where it gets really interesting. After hearing multiple vocalizations, the witness decided to mimic the sound himself. Big mistake, or maybe not, depending on how you look at it. Immediately, two creatures started calling back and forth, progressively getting closer to his location. His dogs went from uneasy to absolutely terrified, cowering at his feet before eventually snapping into attack mode, barking and jumping at the windows of his SUV. That's when he realized the sunroof was open. He panicked, jumped over the seat, and got out of there as fast as he could. The witness mentioned his dogs had encountered moose and elk in those mountains before without ever being scared. These were experienced outdoor dogs, not the type to spook easily. That detail alone says a lot about what was out there that night. Todd Strong from BFRO did a follow-up investigation and found the witness completely believable. The professor at Utah State who the witness later spoke with had actually seen something himself the year before in the same area, walking on two legs through a clearing. That's two separate credible accounts from the same general location. Kelly Shaw also shares her own experience from 2011, just two or three miles from where this encounter happened. She and her group heard what she describes as a woman screaming in distress, except it was way deeper and lasted 12 to 15 seconds or longer. No human could produce that sound. They heard it two nights in a row around 1:00 in the morning. After the first night, they found a footprint in Beaver Creek under about four inches of water that was crystal clear, with crisp details around the toes and between them. Vocalization reports like this are actually pretty common in Sasquatch research. Many researchers believe these creatures use a complex system of calls to communicate across long distances, especially in mountainous terrain where sound carries. The fact that two creatures were calling back and forth and moving toward the witness after he mimicked the sound suggests a level of intelligence and curiosity that's hard to explain away.
