Bigfoot Researcher Returns to Boykin Springs, Finds Empty Cameras

Boykin Springs Lake, tucked deep in the Angelina National Forest of East Texas, has long attracted attention from Sasquatch researchers for its dense, swampy terrain and remote feel. One dedicated investigator recently made the trip back to the area to check on a series of trail cams he had set up around what he calls "Bigfoot traps."
The Squatchin' Cowboy, joined by his granddaughter and wife April, headed down to the site to retrieve his equipment. The setup included a rotisserie chicken placed in a bag as bait, positioned at the trap location. Upon arrival, the bag was still there and didn't appear to have been disturbed by anything.
Unfortunately, the trip yielded no footage. All four trail cam batteries were dead after roughly three weeks in the field, and one of the cameras apparently wasn't even switched on. The Cowboy handled the disappointment with good humor, noting that "98% of the time you go out, you don't find anything." It's a reality every researcher knows well — the woods don't always cooperate, and equipment failure is part of the game.
The terrain itself is part of the challenge. Boykin Springs sits in rugged, low-lying ground that can be exhausting to navigate, especially in the Texas heat. The Cowboy mentioned that on a previous visit, the steep hill nearly did him in, and even this time the climb back up left him breathing hard.
Despite the lack of results this time, the Cowboy teased an upcoming video called "20 Questions for Bigfoot Researchers" that will feature members of the Sasquatch community sharing their perspectives. That one sounds like it'll be worth keeping an eye out for.
