Oregon Tracker Recalls Unsettling Bigfoot Encounter at Remote Waterfall

There's a fascinating interview circulating on YouTube right now that every serious researcher needs to check out. The folks over at Creek Devil, hosted by two-time witness and field researcher William Jevning, recently sat down with a fellow Oregonian outdoorsman named Joe, and the stories he shared are the kind that make your skin prickle.
Joe isn't your average weekend hiker. He's a guide who knows the woods like the back of his hand, and he's had multiple encounters across Oregon's Coast Range and Cascades. Most of his experiences have been in the Cascades, where he spends the majority of his time exploring. What makes his testimony particularly compelling is his background. This is someone trained to be aware of his surroundings, not someone prone to flights of fancy.
The story that really stands out involves a trip to a remote waterfall in the Coast Range. Joe and a female companion hiked roughly four miles into checkerboarded public and private land, the kind of terrain that's a patchwork of old growth forest and tree farm plantations. For those unfamiliar with this landscape, it's prime Sasquatch habitat. Triple canopy areas with incredible biodiversity, thick reprod where you could crawl around for days without being seen or heard, and natural choke points along logging roads where wildlife travels.
It was during this hike that Joe noticed something that stopped him in his tracks. Tree breaks. And not subtle ones. These were obvious, significant breaks that couldn't be explained by snowfall, because the Coast Range doesn't hold snow for long, and the previous winter had been mild. Joe made sure to photograph the breaks with plenty of context around them, because he understands something a lot of people miss. A single photo of a broken tree tells you nothing. You need the surrounding environment to understand what you're looking at.
But the real gut-punch moment came when they backtracked down the trail. Right in the middle of the path, draped over a small bush under some trees, was a black Victoria's Secret hoodie. Now, anyone who's spent time in the woods knows that finding random clothing in remote areas is unsettling. But this was different. Joe's military training kicked in immediately. His hand went to his pistol, and he started scanning his visible line, checking every shadow, every thick patch of reprod where something could be hiding.
Here's where it gets really interesting. The hoodie was dry underneath. It had been raining all day. The ground was wet. Everything was wet. But this garment, placed deliberately in the middle of a trail in the middle of winter in the middle of the week, was dry on the bottom. That means it hadn't been there long. Someone, or something, had placed it there recently.
Joe's companion picked up on his vibe immediately and started scanning too. They decided to take the long route back, several extra hours of climbing over old growth dead falls, because Joe wasn't comfortable retracing their steps. The original route would have taken them up over rock cliffs, completely exposed. In Sasquatch research, exposed terrain is often where encounters happen, and Joe wasn't taking any chances.
What really elevates this testimony is the context of the location. Joe describes the area as having significant cougar sign, big rocks above and below the logging road creating natural ambush points, and thick reprod where visibility drops to almost nothing. This is exactly the kind of terrain where Sasquatch activity gets reported. The tree breaks, the mysterious placement of an item in a trail, the timing of it all. It adds up to something that deserves attention.
Joe also mentions he's sent photos of these tree breaks to Will, and the Victoria's Secret hoodie was photographed as well. The Creek Devil channel has been documenting these kinds of field investigations for years, and this interview is a solid addition to that body of work.
If you're interested in witness testimony from people who actually spend time in Sasquatch country, this video is worth your time. Joe comes across as credible, level-headed, and genuinely affected by what he experienced. Check it out and see what you think.
