1980 Missouri Sasquatch Sighting: Hunter's 10-Minute Binocular Encounter

A pretty interesting Sasquatch encounter from 1980 in the Missouri Ozarks recently popped up, and it's definitely worth a look. The encounter happened in October 1980 in Douglas County, Missouri, near the small town of Dora. Douglas County sits right in the heart of the Ozarks, a region that's long been considered prime Sasquatch territory thanks to its dense forests, rugged terrain, and abundant wildlife. The Ozarks have produced a ton of reports over the years, so this one fits right in with that body of evidence. The witness was a 19-year-old guy who'd been hunting with his dad since he was 7 years old, so he definitely knew his way around the woods. On this particular morning, around 8 AM, he was out on a relative's property doing some squirrel hunting and scouting for deer ahead of the upcoming season. He was dressed in camouflage and sitting next to a tree on a hillside, with a valley and another hillside in front of him. About 150 yards away on the far hillside, he spotted movement, a dark shape moving through the trees. His first thought was that it was a bear, which would have been totally reasonable in the Missouri woods. But when the shape reached a car-sized clearing and stopped, he realized it was bipedal.
