If you're into firsthand cryptid encounters that span decades, this one is going to keep you glued to your screen. A recent episode over on The Cryptid Profiler YouTube channel features a guest named Rob, and his stories are the kind that make you pause whatever you're doing and just listen. The host, Dano, sets the stage by explaining that Rob reached out after leaving a comment during one of the live chats. What followed was a phone call that lasted nearly two hours, and Rob had compiled a list of encounters going all the way back to 1993. Dano had to pick which stories to cover first, and honestly, the choices he made are wild. Rob's introduction alone is fascinating. His dad was the kind of guy who built a hydro-powered engine in high school and literally blew a crater in the football field. So when young Rob got interested in dinosaurs, his dad didn't shut it down. Instead, he suggested maybe some were still out there. That open-mindedness clearly stuck. Rob mentions watching a Peter Graves-hosted show about Sasquatch as a kid, complete with the Sierra Sounds, and being hooked from age five or six. Growing up in the backwoods without cable, his life revolved around hunting season, fishing, and the woods. And the woods apparently had things waiting for him. The first encounter Dano dives into happened when Rob was just 10 years old, walking down an old four-wheeler trail on the side of a mountain near Heber Springs, Arkansas. It's still daylight, summer, plenty of time before sunset. He starts noticing things darting through the trees. First, a black figure crosses the path about 30 yards ahead. Then a reddish one moves along the opposite side and stops on the trail roughly 50 yards ahead. Rob stops, stares, and realizes this thing is standing upright on two legs with a wolf-like head. No fangs, no growling, no aggression. Just watching. By the time he reaches some large boulders near the bottom of the hill, a third one appears, this one dark brown. All three end up grouped together behind the rocks, and here's the creepy part: they weren't watching Rob. They were watching the road below, tracking something he couldn't see. No animals, no people, no dogs. Just three bipedal canid-looking creatures focused on something else entirely. Rob went home, told his dad, drew a picture, colored it in, and went to bed. He had no idea what he'd seen. Terms like "dog man" weren't even in his vocabulary back then. For anyone unfamiliar, dog man reports have been popping up across the country for decades, with hotspots in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and yes, Arkansas. Witnesses consistently describe tall, bipedal creatures with canine features, often seen near wooded areas or rural roads. The fact that Rob's encounter happened in broad daylight with multiple witnesses (well, multiple creatures) and lasted several minutes makes it stand out. Dano then transitions to what he calls "Killer," and Rob's reaction says it all. "Oh god. Oh, Killer." Whatever happened to that dog, it's clearly not a light story. The episode cuts off right as they're about to get into it, which is a pretty effective way to make sure viewers come back. There's also a tease about a Gugwe encounter, which is a cryptid that doesn't get nearly enough attention in mainstream paranormal circles. And to top it off, Rob claims to have witnessed a Sasquatch during a snowstorm while stationed in Wyoming between 1993 and 1995. Dano himself was stationed in Wyoming during that same window, which adds an interesting personal connection to the story. The episode is part one, with Dano already promising to have Rob back for more. If you're a fan of detailed, multi-decade encounter stories from someone who clearly grew up in the right (or wrong, depending on your perspective) kind of environment, this is worth checking out. The Cryptid Profiler channel has the full conversation, and based on how this one ends, the next episode is going to be a must-watch.
