Then a reddish one moves along the opposite side and stops on the trail roughly 50 yards ahead. Rob stops, stares, and realizes this thing is standing upright on two legs with a wolf-like head. No fangs, no growling, no aggression. Just watching. By the time he reaches some large boulders near the bottom of the hill, a third one appears, this one dark brown. All three end up grouped together behind the rocks, and here's the creepy part: they weren't watching Rob. They were watching the road below, tracking something he couldn't see. No animals, no people, no dogs. Just three bipedal canid-looking creatures focused on something else entirely. Rob went home, told his dad, drew a picture, colored it in, and went to bed. He had no idea what he'd seen. Terms like "dog man" weren't even in his vocabulary back then.
