Mysterious Whistles Encircle Washington Explorers in Old-Growth Forest

So I just stumbled across this wild interview over on the CREEK DEVIL YouTube channel, and honestly, it gave me chills. If you're into witness testimonies, this one is a must-watch. The interview features a guy named Damon recounting an experience he had back around 2009 or 2010 in South Pierce County, Washington. He and two buddies were driving a Geo Tracker up some logging roads they frequented, exploring trails and shooting guns like they normally did. But this particular day took a turn into seriously strange territory. They followed a road they'd never been down before, winding through a clear cut area and into older growth forest that was getting thick. The road had small saplings growing right out of it, which told them nobody had driven up there in a long time. Eventually, they came to what Damon described as basically a cul-de-sac in the middle of these big trees, possibly an old logging landing or turnaround spot. That's when things got interesting. Damon got out to take a leak and heard a whistle. Not just any whistle, but one that sounded exactly like a referee or police whistle, with that distinct bead-in-it sound. He estimated it was somewhere between 500 and 1,000 yards away. His buddies initially dismissed it, but when they turned off the truck, they heard it too. Now here's where it gets really compelling. They started hollering and honking the horn, thinking someone might be hurt out there. The whistle stopped for a couple minutes, then came from a completely different direction, this time about half as far away. Damon describes it as coming from uphill from them, and the whole encounter unfolded within about 10 minutes of them stopping. Then the bird sounds started. Strange ones Damon had never heard before, coming from different areas around them, maybe 50 to 100 yards in the woods. And then came the cracking of sticks and bushes, large branches being broken, and lots of it seemed intentional. Whatever was out there was big. By the end of it, Damon estimated there were two or three of these things around them, and they were being surrounded. One would whistle with an upward inflection from one direction, and then something would move on another side followed by a downward inflection whistle. Damon, being the brave one, tried wood knocking on a tree. His buddies had a rifle and a shotgun, while he only had an axe handle. He says he really wanted to see what these things were, but his friends were getting too spooked, so they left. What really struck me about this interview was the connection the host made to Native American traditions. He pointed out that many of the ceremonial masks carved by indigenous peoples in the Northwest, particularly the ones with pursed whistling lips, represent these creatures. That's a detail that often gets overlooked in modern discussions, but it's incredibly significant when you think about how long these beings have been part of the cultural landscape. The host also mentioned that the area Damon described isn't far from a place he investigated back in 1980 where two elk were dismembered. That kind of historical context adds another layer to this whole thing. Damon admits he spent a long time trying to figure out what he heard. He looked up Bigfoot whistles, animal calls, everything he could think of, and couldn't find anything that matched that gym whistle sound. For years, he was convinced it might have been people living off the grid, maybe even tribes that didn't want to conform to modern civilization. But after hearing more reports over the years, he says the behavior matches what he's learned about Sasquatch. This is one of those interviews that really makes you think. The coordinated whistling, the surrounding behavior, the wood knocking response, it all fits a pattern that many researchers have documented over the years. If you're into witness accounts, definitely check out this video. It's a fascinating listen.
