Kentucky isn't exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think about Sasquatch territory. Most folks automatically picture the dense, mossy forests of the Pacific Northwest when they hear the word "Bigfoot." But stories like the one shared on the My Bigfoot Sighting channel are a good reminder that these encounters happen all over the country, even in places where you'd least expect them.
This particular episode features a guest who has had multiple run-ins with what he believes to be a Sasquatch over the years, all in the same general area of Davis County, Kentucky. His uncle owned a large stretch of property with deep ravines, tall hills, and dense woods that butted up against the Ohio River bottoms. The kind of terrain that could easily hide a large, reclusive creature.
His first encounter happened back in 2002 while he was helping his uncle clear a tree line. He was sitting on a small tractor with the engine off, waiting for his uncle to finish pushing trees down with a bulldozer. That's when he heard what he describes as the loudest roaring scream he'd ever experienced, loud enough to be heard over a running bulldozer. When he turned to look, he noticed deer, rabbits, and raccoons fleeing the area in a panic. About ten minutes later, he spotted something leaning out of an old abandoned barn doorway, watching him. It had its arm wrapped around the top beam of the doorway. He later measured that beam and, being 6'3" himself, he could barely touch it on his tiptoes. That puts the creature at somewhere around 8 to 8.5 feet tall.
What makes this story even more compelling is that the encounters didn't stop there. Around 2007, he and a friend were digging through shale piles on the same property, looking for fossils, when they started getting rocks thrown back at them. Then, as they walked back to his truck along a gravel road, something started pacing them through a ditch filled with cane and reeds. They could hear the footsteps matching theirs, stopping when they stopped. When they finally reached his truck and hit the high beams, the creature burst out of the ditch and sprinted straight up a steep hillside faster than anything that size should be able to move. He got a clear look at it and describes it as shaggy but clean, with a grayish tint, and heavily muscled in the arms and legs.
There's also a third incident he mentions from his middle school days, when he and his cousin were camping out in a tree fort they had built on a ridge. They heard an incredibly powerful whistle coming from the bottom of the hill, one so intense he says he felt it in his chest. At first they thought it was his cousin's dad messing with them, but they checked and he was asleep in bed.
Over the years, he's continued to have experiences in that same area, including more rocks being thrown at him, finding tree structures, hearing whistles, and even a strange chittering noise that bounced back and forth through the woods like monkey gibberish. He's also had other locals reach out to him with similar stories, including a hunter who had something stealing his deer.
Kentucky actually has a long history of Sasquatch reports, despite not getting as much attention as other regions. The state's heavily wooded areas, river bottoms, and remote hollows provide plenty of habitat that could support a population of these creatures. Davis County sits in the western part of the state, and the Ohio River corridor has been a hotspot for unusual sightings for decades.
The guest's story is worth checking out in full over on the My Bigfoot Sighting YouTube channel. He goes into much more detail about each encounter, and his descriptions of the creature's movement and physical build are particularly interesting. Multiple sightings in the same location over several years, with consistent descriptions, is exactly the kind of pattern that researchers find most valuable.
