Mark recounts his experience with his two friends, one night in the summer, near a national forest. They were teenagers at the time, and Mark was 17, while one of his friends was 15. They had recorded music that day, and decided to go to the location where they recorded it, which was near a tree fort on the edge of the national forest. As they were hanging out and playing music, Mark's friend pointed out a "skinny tree" that was swinging back and forth, with no noise. Mark explains that there was no way a human could be moving the tree in such a manner. This sighting was enough to scare Mark's friends, who decided to leave the area immediately. Mark's friend took the cassette player, flipped the tape over, and hit record. They then descended from the tree fort and started running towards their car. Mark could hear thumps on the other side of a thick wall of bushes, which followed their pace. When they reached the open field, they lost sight of the creature. Mark mentions that he has researched the area and found that there used to be a wooden fence with a bob wire between it, which has now grown over into a wall of bushes.
