Intriguing footage has surfaced on the YouTube channel, Stories BEYOND the ORDINARY, that tells the chilling tale of the Ape Canyon incident. This video is based on a true story and is one of the most terrifying Bigfoot encounters ever reported. The incident took place in the summer of 1924, when five miners ventured into the remote Ape Canyon. Located on the eastern slope of Mount St. Helens, the site was a no man's land, with a reputation that was passed down among the local Native American tribes. The miners, Fredbeck, Gabe, Fever, John Peterson, and brothers Marian and Roy Smith, were seasoned explorers, familiar with rough terrain and survival skills. They set up camp in a small, one-room log cabin, with no windows, just a single door and a slanted roof. The days passed quietly, with the work being slow but steady. However, the nights were different. The miners felt a heavy, creeping stillness that seemed to thicken with each passing night. They all felt uneasy, with the sense that something was watching from just beyond the tree line. Descriptions of the creatures varied from one tribe to another, but certain details remained the same. They were tall, silent figures covered in hair, wild, intelligent, and fiercely territorial. They lived in the shadows of the trees and came out only when disturbed. The miners likely didn't know about these legends or if they did, they didn't listen. But the forest knew they were there, and soon it would answer. Before long, something in the forest began to change. The first sign was the whistling, which started late at night when the fire burned low and the shadows stretched long across the cabin walls. At first, no one spoke up, each man lying still, thinking he was the only one who'd heard it. The next sign came later that afternoon, when the miners were walking the edge of the tree line. They spotted something strange - massive footprints in the dirt. Each one was around 18 inches long and pressed deep into the earth, like whatever made them was heavy. Five long toes were spread wide, and the space between each step was way too long for any human. The miners found more prints nearby, crossing the trail that they used every day. From that point on, the forest felt different. Every sound seemed to mean something, every shadow looked like it was hiding something just out of sight. Then one afternoon, it finally showed itself. Fred caught a flicker of movement on the ridge above the dig site. Something dark, tall, broad-shouldered, and standing upright moved through the trees with long, deliberate strides. Its body was covered in dark matted hair, its arms hung low, and for just a moment, it turned its head toward him. Fred raised his rifle and fired the shot, but the creature slipped back into the forest without a trace. That night, no one slept. It felt like something was watching and waiting. Then a crash - the entire cabin shook, dust rained from the rafters, and the men froze in place. Another crash slammed into the outer wall, then came the sound of heavy deliberate footsteps slowly circling them. Then came the pounding, a violent blow against the door, and another impact hit the roof. Something was throwing rocks big ones, they crashed against the cabin like battering rams, shaking the structure with every hit. The men were trapped, with just four walls and a single door between them and whatever was outside. Then came the heavy footsteps on the roof followed by a loud crack - the roof split open as a massive rock crashed through landing hard on the floor, just missing one of the men. They looked up and saw it through the jagged hole in the ceiling - stood a figure covered in thick matted hair, easily 400 lbs. Its face was buried in shadow, but its eyes were fixed on them. For a moment, time stopped, then all at once, the men raised their rifles and fired into the roof, trying to scare whatever it was away. The creature let out a sound that froze them in place, strange, high-pitched, and nothing like they'd ever heard before, and then it was gone. But the night was far from over. The pounding continued, and something kicked the door so hard the wood groaned like it might snap at any second. More rocks rained from above, branches snapped, and brush crunched beneath countless heavy footsteps, grunts, and growls shook the walls. Whatever was out there didn't stop for hours, but the creatures never came inside, and then just before dawn, everything stopped, and it became silent as the first pale light of the sun crept across the canyon floor. The five men didn't move for a long time. They stood there looking at each other, they didn't know if the next sound they heard would be another crash or the deep exhale of something waiting just beyond the door. Finally, one of them stepped forward, Fredbeck slowly approached the door with his rifle in hand. The others watched in silence, holding their breath as he reached for the latch. His fingers hesitated for a moment, and he stood there listening. He unlocked the latch, then inch by inch, he tugged the door open. Its warped frame resisted every movement, groaning under the strain as the hinges let out a high metallic screech. Then he slowly leaned forward and out, scanning the trees and looking for movement. He opened the door a little wider before turning back to the others, giving them a single nod. The world outside looked like a battlefield - rocks were scattered in every direction, some the size of fists, the other as large as skulls. The cabin was wrecked, the roof was splintered in multiple places, never mind the hole in the middle of it. The walls were scarred with dents and splinters where stones had slammed against them in the dark. The men stepped outside with the rifles in hand, then they saw the footprints that came in from the trees, circled the cabin, and then vanished off into the woods again. The men hurried and packed what they could and they left, not looking back. Hours passed, and slowly the trail widened, and at last, they reached the rough dirt road that would bring them out of the woods. They went straight to the Forest Service, then to the county sheriff's office, and told them the whole story - the creatures, the rocks, the pounding, and the cries in the dark. They never changed that story as the years went by, and the story became a legend. One question remains - what really came out of the woods that night? What do you think? Did these five guys really have their cabin surrounded by Bigfoot? Let us know in the comments, and as always, thank you for watching Stories Beyond the Ordinary
