Title: A Terrifying Encounter in the Trinity Wilderness - Bob Strain's Shocking Story
Hey there, fellow Squatchers! Today, we've got a chilling tale for you from Bob Strain, a name you might recognize from our previous interviews. This time, he shares an experience that, while not directly related to Bigfoot, is certainly intriguing nonetheless.
In 1979, Bob found himself in Northern California's Trinity Wilderness, a beautiful area not far from Bluff Creek. He was part of a group of friends, including his cousin and some of his cousin's friends, who had hired an outfitter to take them deep into the wilderness on horseback. They had a pack train of 22 animals, including horses and mules, to help them navigate the rugged terrain.
One evening, Bob and another young member of the group decided to take a mule with all their camping gear up to a ridge on the opposite side of their campsite. They wanted to be close to their hunting spot when they woke up on opening day. They tied the mule, named Nancy, to a tree in a meadow, following the outfitter's instructions to let her graze all night long.
As they settled in for the night, they heard a blood-curdling scream that lasted for about 8 to 10 seconds. It started out sounding like a woman being murdered, then transformed into a howl reminiscent of the Ohio howl, and finally ended with a lion's roar. It was a terrifying sound that left them all shaken.
The scream came from across a big draw, on the far side of an open area. They shone their lights down there but couldn't see anything. They hung around for a while, checking on Nancy, who seemed unfazed by the commotion. However, as they were getting ready to sleep, Nancy started acting strangely, making noise and throwing a fit.
When they went to check on her, they found her pushed up against the tree she was tied to, with her eyes big and her nostrils flaring. Her left front leg was twisted in a way that was unusual for mules. Despite being on flat ground, it seemed something had injured her.
The rest of their trip was uneventful, but Nancy's leg never fully healed. It's interesting to note that mules are known for their bravery and sure-footedness, so Nancy's reaction and injury were certainly unusual.
What do you think caused Nancy's strange behavior and injury? Could it have been a Bigfoot encounter? Share your thoughts in the comments below and don't forget to watch the full video on The Sensible Bigfoot Project's YouTube channel!
