In a recent video from the Bigfoot Society YouTube channel, host Jason hosts Mr. Scott Violet, a Native American Cultural Anthropologist and founder of Squatch America. Scott's expertise in Native American culture, particularly pictographs, has led him to investigate the Bigfoot legend more closely. Scott grew up in the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon, an area heavily trafficked by Bigfoot enthusiasts. As a teenager, he didn't pay much attention to the folklore, but after becoming a Native American culture Anthropologist, he started to notice the common theme of Bigfoot legends and stories in tribes all over the nation. When Scott retired, he decided to look into the Bigfoot legend more closely and set up a Facebook page to gather stories from people in the Blue Mountain Area. He was surprised to receive hundreds of stories and findings from people in the area, which sparked his interest even more. Scott believes that the Blue Mountains of Eastern Oregon is a hotspot for Bigfoot activity, with over 26,000 square miles of forest that nobody lives in. The upper end of the blue mountain range runs into Idaho and Montana, and the southern part goes through the Oo mountains and connects with the Cascades, making it a natural corridor for Bigfoot migration. As a Native American Cultural Anthropologist, Scott has found three pictographs of Bigfoot, one of which is in Porterville, California, and two in Oregon. The Porterville pictograph is a life-size 8-foot tall depiction of a Bigfoot family, and Scott has noticed symbols on the bottom of the pictograph that suggest it may be over 2500 to 3,000 years old. Scott's vast knowledge of Native American culture and his personal experiences in the Blue Mountains make for a fascinating interview.
