Idaho has long been a hotbed for Bigfoot sightings, with its vast wilderness areas and sparse population providing the perfect habitat for these elusive creatures. The YouTube channel Campfire Creepers has compiled a list of the top five most compelling Bigfoot sightings in Idaho, and I am excited to share this information with my fellow believers. Coming in at number five is the Priest Lake encounter, which took place in October 2020. Two campers near the lake's western shore reported hearing deep, guttural growls coming from the forest. As they shined their flashlights into the trees, they caught a brief glimpse of a massive dark figure moving between the pines. The next morning, they found large humanlike footprints leading away from their campsite and disappearing into the dense wilderness. At number four is the Sawtooth Wilderness shadow incident, which occurred in July 2019. Three hikers camping deep in the wilderness heard branches snapping in the middle of the night. One of the hikers, using night vision binoculars, spotted a tall shadowy figure standing motionless near the tree line. When they tried to get a better look, the figure suddenly darted into the forest with alarming speed. The hikers left the area the next morning, convinced they had encountered something nonhuman. The St Joe River beast comes in at number three, reported in March 2021 by a fisherman along the St Joe River. He noticed something moving on the opposite bank and assumed it was a black bear. But as he focused, he saw a massive upright creature covered in dark brown hair. The creature appeared to be watching him before disappearing into the woods, leaving the fisherman shaken and questioning what he had seen. At number two is the OE desert giant, reported in September 2022 by four off-road enthusiasts driving through a remote dirt trail. They spotted a large dark figure walking along a ridgeline. The creature was over 8 feet tall, moving with a strange effortless stride. As they stopped their vehicle, the figure suddenly dropped to all fours and vanished behind the rocks. One of the witnesses, an experienced hunter, claimed the movement was unlike anything he had ever seen in the wild. And finally, at number one is the Clearwater National Forest encounter, reported in May 2023 by a group of six campers. During a weekend camping trip near a secluded river, they noticed a strong musky odor in the air. As the sun set, they heard loud knocking sounds echoing through the valley, followed by deep guttural vocalizations unlike any known animal. At around midnight, one of the campers, a wildlife biologist, spotted a massive figure moving near their campsite. He described it as at least 9 feet tall, covered in thick dark hair, with eyes that reflected the firelight. The group watched as the creature stood at the edge of the firelight, observing them for several minutes before silently retreating into the forest.
