Bigfoot Sighting in Santa Clarita: UFOs, Strange Creatures, and Cover-Ups

The story is told by Shannon Morgan, a member of a local club interested in reports of strange creatures. In October 1974, Shannon investigated a report of a Bigfoot sighting by two teenage boys, the McBrides, in the Santa Clarita Valley. The boys claimed to have seen a creature with a glowing blue belt around its waist carrying a pig under its arm. Shannon's investigation led her to receive a call from some people who claimed to have seen a UFO near Texas Canyon. Intrigued, she decided to investigate and was soon contacted by a group of terrified teenagers who claimed to have seen three upright, tall, and hairy creatures with dog-like faces, human-like bodies, and glowing eyes near Texas Canyon. As Shannon and her friends searched the area, they noticed an unmistakable odor of rotten eggs and found several large patches of oddly disturbed ground and small 6-in holes. Suddenly, a small plane seemed to be having engine trouble and a huge white, bright light blinked on slightly behind and above the plane, darting quickly Eastward in an incredible burst of speed and disappearing. Shannon's investigation took an even more interesting turn when she was approached by a friend, Ed, who revealed that he had been attached to a military intelligence unit in Southern California in 1967 that had been investigating UFOs. Ed claimed to have seen four hideous-looking creatures, covered in fine hair and resembling Bigfoot, at the site of a UFO crash.
