In a recent live show for the YouTube channel Mysteries Unknown, hosts Daniel and Josh delved into the legend of the Mogollon Monster, Arizona's very own Bigfoot-like creature. The Mogollon Rim, a rugged stretch across Central and Eastern Arizona, is said to be the tall creature's home, with numerous eyewitness accounts describing a large hairy bipedal creature in the dense forest.
The Mogollon Monster is often compared to Bigfoot, with similarities including its massive size, which is reportedly between 7 to 10 feet tall, glowing red or yellow eyes, and a strong, strange odor. The creature has been reported for centuries, with encounters going as far back as 1903.
One of the earliest documented encounters with the Mogollon Monster appeared in the July 10th, 1903 edition of The Arizona Republic newspaper. A prospector named IW Stevens claimed to have come face to face with a terrifying hair-covered beast along the Grand Canyon's Eastern Rim. Stevens described the creature as being over 7 feet tall, covered with long white hair, possessing clawed fingers, and an incredibly powerful build. He also noted that the beast had a semi-human face with fiery eyes, sharp yellowed teeth, and claws instead of fingernails.
Daniel and Josh also discussed modern reports of the Mogollon Monster, including a strange encounter where a dog was killed and the owner heard a hand come from the other side of the fence, grabbing the dog by the head and neck. The owner described the experience as "baffling," similar to Missing 411 cases that leave us questioning reality.
The hosts also discussed other cryptids and dogman encounters, as well as sharing photo evidence and audio clips related to the Mogollon Monster. The live show was informative and engaging, providing valuable information about Arizona's own Bigfoot-like creature.
