Unexplained Alabama Bigfoot Encounters: 1969-1978

A recent video posted on YouTube by the channel Bigfoot Encounters Narrated shares some fascinating stories of Bigfoot sightings and experiences in Alabama. The video, titled "BIGFOOT REPORTS IN ALABAMA," features several accounts of encounters with the Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, in the state. The first story takes place in Winston County, Alabama, in the summer of 1969. An 8-year-old girl was visiting a neighbor and returned home to find a note left for her to come to the family's favorite fishing hole on Brushy Creek with her mother and siblings. As she walked through the woods to the creek, she saw something move in the brush ahead of her. She quickly looked up and was petrified to see a huge hair-covered creature standing on two feet, so close she could have touched it. The sight of the creature caused her to drop to the ground and start praying that the monster would not kill her. After a while, she stopped praying, looked up, and the animal was gone. She immediately turned around and ran home. She described the creature as being 7 ft tall, with long brownish hair, massive arms and legs, and enormously wide shoulders. The second story takes place in Madison County, Alabama, in the summer of 1971. Numerous cattle had been reported missing, and disc-shaped objects were seen landing on several hills. A sheriff's stakeout for the supposed cattle rustlers caught sight of several agile figures that appeared to have no problem in vaulting fences. One night, several of the guards saw the creatures attacking some cattle and shot them, but apparently with no visible effect. The beings fled into some caves and were followed by sheriff's deputies. The deputies brought guard dogs, but the creatures would not venture into the caves. The men shone their flashlights into the cave and could see shiny eyes staring back at them. Numerous cattle carcasses littered the ground inside the cave, and the stench was unbearable. The third story takes place in Limestone County, Alabama, in 1974. A group of friends had started cave exploring. One day, while deer hunting, one of the friends saw a big buck deer hung up in the bushes by its antlers. He had a shotgun with a slug in it and as he got the deer in his sights, the deer turned its head and looked at him. He couldn't shoot it and walked back to find his brother-in-law. They walked back to find the deer gone and nothing left but velvet. While he was there, he noticed a small stream of water running out of a small opening at the bottom of a hill. He had no flashlight with him and could only see that it did go back up into the hill. A few days later, he and a friend went back to this location with a flashlight. They got to the opening and saw that about 2 ft into the opening, it opened up into what looked like a big room in a cave. As they shined the light into the left, they saw that there was a turn and something big, hairy, and chested walked into the light. The fourth story takes place in Blount County, Alabama, in the summer of 1975. A woman was driving a Volkswagen bus when she saw a creature on the curve near the interstate. She thought it was a big white dog, but as she got closer, it turned and stood up on its back legs. It was covered with long white hair, and it had a round head and a fairly large mouth or lips. It was probably over 6 ft tall and terrified her. The fifth story takes place in Limestone County, Alabama, in the spring of 1978. A 13 or 14-year-old boy was on an annual family visit to his grandparents' place in Athens. He was down at the boat house pier throwing a frog jig into the shallow water when he saw something emerge from the swamp next to and below the pasture fence about 50 ft away. It stood upright and waited into the water, knee-deep. He didn't pay attention at first, thinking it was a bear, but soon realized it was not a bear. It was tall and had a dark brown or black color. These stories are just a few examples of the many Bigfoot sightings and experiences that have been reported in Alabama. The video is a must-watch for anyone interested in the Bigfoot phenomenon.
