A young woman named Tiffany Daniels went missing in Pensacola, Florida in August 2013, and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain a mystery. Tiffany, who worked for the theater department at Pensacola State College, finished work early on Monday, August 12th and was never seen or heard from again.
Her roommate, Gary Nicholls, wasn't too concerned when she didn't come home right away, as Tiffany was known for being adventurous and free-spirited. However, when she didn't return by the following morning and her cell phone went straight to voicemail, Gary grew worried and called Tiffany's parents to report her missing.
Tiffany's mother, Cindy Daniels, initially thought that her daughter was just having a good time and hadn't told anyone where she was going. But as the days passed and there was still no sign of Tiffany, Cindy became increasingly concerned.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office and the Pensacola Police Department were notified of Tiffany's disappearance, and an investigation was launched. Detective Daniel Harnet, who was assigned to the case, searched Tiffany's home but did not find any signs of foul play.
Tiffany's vehicle, a gray Toyota Forerunner, was found at Pensacola Beach park west parking lot eight days after she went missing. Some of her belongings were inside the vehicle, but there was no sign of Tiffany.
Detectives obtained video from the toll plaza at the Bobsy Bridge, which Tiffany would have had to cross to get to the beach, and determined that her Forerunner had crossed the bridge at 7:51 p.m. on Monday. However, the camera only focused on license plates, so it was impossible to tell who was driving the vehicle at the time.
Tiffany's loved ones and members of the community rallied together to search for her, handing out flyers and scouring the beach area. Despite their efforts, Tiffany's whereabouts remain a mystery.
Detectives interviewed Tiffany's family members, friends, and associates, and learned that she had recently gone through a break-up with her boyfriend, who had moved to Texas. Tiffany had planned a farewell breakfast for her boyfriend the day before he left, and detectives interviewed him to determine his whereabouts at the time of Tiffany's disappearance.
Tiffany's sister, Candace McAdams, remembered that Tiffany hadn't been her normal bubbly self in the weeks leading up to her disappearance. Despite this, Candace was certain that Tiffany would not have voluntarily disappeared or committed suicide.
Detective Harnet agreed that Tiffany likely did not leave on her own accord, as she had plans for the next day, week, and month. The investigation into Tiffany's disappearance is ongoing.
