A new video posted on the YouTube channel Curious Conundrums Mysteries Unveiled explores chilling firsthand accounts of Bigfoot sightings across America. Known as the Yeti in Nepal, Alma in Russia, Yowie in Aboriginal Australia, and Sasquatch in Canada and the Pacific Northwest, the creature is described as a 7 to 8-foot-tall, 500 to 700-pound hairy giant that resembles an ape but walks upright like a human. The video highlights several intriguing Bigfoot sightings and encounters from different parts of the United States, including Michigan. One such encounter occurred in 1977 when Becky Kurtz, a resident of rural Bariton, noticed that her family's two German Shepherd Husky mix watchdogs were whimpering and carrying on outside her back door. When she opened the door, the terrified dogs shot inside to the basement, where they hid for two days. Kurtz's husband, Bob, also noticed strange occurrences around their property, including huge indentations in the bare soil that were unlike any animal tracks he had ever seen. The tracks measured 16 1/2 inches long and 9 1/2 inches wide, with a stride of nearly 5 feet. Milkweeds and other plants had been crushed where each foot had come down, and most tracks were embedded 1 1/2 to 2 inches deep into the ground. Curious about the strange tracks, Kurtz called in two other area residents, Jean Little and George Mlan, for their opinion. Little was a longtime wildlife photographer and producer who had often shot film for the Michigan Outdoors Television program, while Mlan was an experienced Big Game Hunter. Both agreed that whatever had left the footprints weighed close to 800 pounds and couldn't have been a bear. The 18-inch-long prints showed a flexible ape-like toe with a ball imprint and had been sunk deep into the dirt by something with great weight.
