Arizona, a state known for its desert landscapes and cacti, might not be the first place you'd expect to hear about Bigfoot sightings. However, the YouTube channel Odd & Untold brings us a collection of Class A sightings from Maricopa County, Arizona, and I am thrilled to share them with you.
The first story comes from two witnesses driving near Buckeye in April 2004. At around 2:30 AM, they saw a tall, gray creature standing on the side of the road. As their vehicle approached, the creature turned and ran through a nearby field at an incredible speed. The witnesses described the creature as being at least 7 feet tall, covered in grayish, matted hair, and having long arms that nearly reached its knees. They were certain that it was not a person in a costume.
Lyle McKinley from the BFRO followed up on this report and gathered more details. The witnesses were driving east on Baseline Road, which runs parallel to I-10, when they saw the figure on the south side of the road. The area is surrounded by agricultural fields and the densely vegetated Hila River drainage, which could provide adequate food and cover for such a creature.
While there are black bears in Arizona, they typically do not grow as large as the creature described in this sighting, nor do they run on two legs. The witnesses' description of the creature's movement being "animal-like" and taking "unusually long strides" further supports the possibility of a Bigfoot encounter.
If you're intrigued by this story, I encourage you to watch the Odd & Untold video and explore their other fascinating tales. Arizona might be more than just cacti and desert; it could be home to the elusive Sasquatch.
