A new movie featuring our favorite elusive creature has hit the screens, and I couldn't wait to share it with you all! The YouTube channel "Journey To The Other Side" recently reviewed a film called "Exists" from 2014, and I have to say, it's an exciting addition to the Bigfoot genre. The movie follows a group of college kids staying at a cabin deep in the woods, and as you might have guessed, Bigfoot makes an appearance. While the plot isn't groundbreaking, the film does deviate from the typical formula in some interesting ways. One of the biggest surprises for me was the pacing. I expected a full hour of build-up before any real action, but the movie jumps right into it within the first 30 minutes. The last 50 minutes are dedicated to the group's encounters with Bigfoot, which I found to be a refreshing change. The film also has a twist that sets the plot in motion. At the beginning, you're shown two facts: since 1967, there have been 3,000 Bigfoot sightings in the United States, and experts say Bigfoot are only dangerous towards humans if provoked. However, the movie takes a different approach when it's revealed that what the group hit with their car was actually Bigfoot's child, causing the creature to seek revenge. The ambiguous ending where Bigfoot lets the last surviving character go adds depth to the creature, portraying it as an individual with intelligence rather than just a big, hairy monster. This is something I've seen reported in my years of research and aligns with the belief that Bigfoot is a unique and intelligent being. I appreciate the found footage style of the movie, as it's a format that feels fitting for a Bigfoot film. However, the execution was a bit confusing, with scenes that didn't seem to fit the found footage format. Despite this, the movie is still worth a watch for any Bigfoot enthusiast. One scene in particular stood out to me: when Bigfoot completely destroys the car that the main characters arrived in. This act sets the creature apart from typical slasher villains and adds to its mystique. Overall, I found "Exists" to be an exciting addition to the Bigfoot movie genre. While there are some issues with the found footage format, the unique take on the plot and the depth given to Bigfoot more than make up for it. I highly recommend checking it out!
