As a park ranger with nearly a decade of experience, the unnamed storyteller in the YouTube video "Scary Park Ranger Horror Stories That Will Shock You | National Park, Missing Persons | Rain Sounds" has seen it all. From lost hikers and animal attacks to reckless campers and tragic accidents, she's dealt with the worst of human carelessness. But nothing could have prepared her for what happened last summer. The video starts off with a routine missing persons call for three hikers Ryan Keller, Lisa Tran, and Daniel Holtz who had set out on a 3-day trip into Loxer National Park. When they didn't return on Monday morning, the search and rescue operation began. The storyteller was one of the first rangers assigned to check their last known location, a campsite deep in Black Hollow. What she found was far from the usual signs of a collapsed tent or scattered belongings. The site was pristine, their tent was zip shut, their gear was neatly arranged, and their food and supplies were untouched. The only thing that seemed out of place was a pot of half-eaten stew still sitting on the camp stove and three phones left behind, tucked into their bags and powered off. The storyteller's curiosity got the better of her, and she powered on one of the phones. Lisa's phone still had half a charge, and as she swiped through her photos, she found the usual landscapes, campfire shots, selfies, and then, the last three images. The first was taken at dusk aimed toward the tree line, the second was clearer, a figure barely visible between the trees, and the third, taken at night, showed the figure closer to the campsite, almost inside the light of the fire. The discovery of the figure in the photos sent chills down the storyteller's spine, and she couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched as she searched the surrounding area. Despite the full-scale search, drones, dogs, volunteers, and off-duty rangers, there was no sign of Lisa, Ryan, or Daniel. The only clue they had was the one image of something standing in the woods, watching, waiting. The video takes a chilling turn as the storyteller recounts another disappearance, this time a family of four, the Martinez family, who had been camping near Redwood Lake. The same pattern emerged, their tent was still up, their gear was still in place, and their phones were left behind. The last three images on Angela's phone were identical to the ones found on Lisa's phone, a beautiful shot of Redwood Lake, a blurry picture of the trees at the edge of the clearing, and a figure standing just beyond the light of the flash.
