A recent YouTube video from The Cryptid Crew Podcast caught my attention, as they interviewed Sasquatch researcher and nature lover, Terrestrial. The discussion revolved around the Sasquatch Data Project, which Terrestrial founded, and the fear factor associated with Sasquatch sightings. Terrestrial shared a fascinating story about how he became interested in Sasquatch at a young age, after watching Doug Hutchinson's documentary, "Sasquatch Legend meet science," featuring the famous Patterson-Gimlin film. This film, despite being under scrutiny, has yet to be debunked or proven as a hoax, leaving many to wonder about its authenticity. As a researcher, Terrestrial has been working on the Sasquatch Data Project since 2023 and has ramped up his focus on it in the last six months. He takes a data-driven, science-backed approach to studying Sasquatch, ensuring that his opinions and ideas are backed by numbers and data. During the interview, Terrestrial discussed his research methods and how long it takes him to research a state. He explained that he spends six to ten minutes on each report, manually reading through them and entering the data into his system. He is currently focusing on BFRO reports but has also started looking into the North American Wood Ape Conservancy reports for data diversity. Terrestrial also shared some of the most interesting reports he has come across during his research. One report from Alabama involved a white or light gray bipedal creature, which he found interesting because it was different from the typical Sasquatch descriptions. Another report from Huntsville, Alabama, described a sighting of a Sasquatch standing by a dumpster outside a Marriott hotel. One topic that Terrestrial has been exploring recently is the fear factor associated with Sasquatch sightings. He explained that fear-driven magnification can affect a witness's perception of the Sasquatch's size, causing them to perceive it as larger than it actually is. By categorizing the different fear levels of witnesses, Terrestrial discovered a correlation between the fear level and the reported height of the Sasquatch. As the fear level of the witness increases, so does the average height of the Sasquatch. Overall, this interview with Terrestrial from The Cryptid Crew Podcast offers valuable insights into the world of Sasquatch research and the fear factor associated with sightings. It's definitely worth a watch for anyone interested in learning more about Sasquatch and the work being done to study them.
